Mike’s Driving School is based in Williamstown, New Jersey, with a dedicated CDL truck training yard in Clayton, New Jersey, serving students across South Jersey.

Our team of professional instructors offers comprehensive driver education and training for new, experienced, and commercial drivers. Courses at Mike’s Driving School include:

Our complete Graduated Driver’s License (GDL) program gives teens the confidence and skills to drive safely. The course includes six hours of one-on-one behind-the-wheel instruction with a professional instructor, motor vehicle vision testing in our office, and flexible scheduling with two three-hour or three two-hour lesson options. Teens aged 16 can take their written permit test right in our office — no trip to the MVC required. We also offer convenient door-to-door pickup and drop-off service throughout South Jersey.

Our six-hour defensive driving course is approved by the State of New Jersey for insurance premium reductions and point removal from your driving record. The course covers hazard recognition, emergency response techniques, and proactive driving strategies. Available online for maximum flexibility — start anytime and complete at your own pace.

For permitted and licensed adult drivers who need to build, refresh, or evaluate their driving skills. Our adult courses cover safety fundamentals, reaction time improvement, defensive driving awareness, highway training, and after-accident training for license reinstatement. Each lesson is one-on-one with a patient instructor using dual-control vehicles.

Teens aged 16 can enroll at Mike’s Driving School and take the written permit test right in our Williamstown office — no trip to the MVC needed. After passing, we issue the driving permit on-site and lessons begin immediately. Six hours of one-on-one behind-the-wheel training with your choice of scheduling.

Launch your commercial driving career with our comprehensive CDL training at our dedicated Clayton, NJ training yard. Programs include Class A CDL (160 hours) with OSHA forklift certification, Class A Refresher (120–160 hours), Class B Straight Truck with forklift (120 hours), Class B with Passenger Endorsement (120 hours), and standalone Forklift OSHA Certification. Our CDL program is VA-approved, financial aid is available, and we provide job search assistance with interview preparation. Graduates have been hired by Coca-Cola, Werner, US Xpress, McLane, Covenant Transport, and other top carriers.

Meet Your Instructor & Begin Training

You’ll be paired with a professional, NJ-licensed driving instructor for one-on-one training. Teen students enjoy door-to-door pickup service. CDL students begin with classroom instruction at our Clayton training facility covering general knowledge.

Build Skills with Hands-On Practice

Behind-the-wheel training is the core of every program. Teen and adult students practice on local roads, highways, and parking scenarios in dual-control vehicles. CDL students progress from our tractor-trailer training yard.

Pass Your Test & Get on the Road

When you’re ready, we help you prepare for your NJ MVC driving test or CDL skills exam. Teen students can complete their road test with our vehicle and instructor. CDL graduates receive job search assistance and interview preparation.
