A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a special type of license required to operate commercial motor vehicles. To acquire a CDL, a candidate must pass both skills and knowledge tests designed to ensure they meet higher driving and safety standards.
The Class A CDL course at Mike’s Driving School is a 160 hours advanced truck driving course that typically runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Weekend and evening classes may also be available. To be eligible for graduation, students must have a minimum attendance rate of 80%.

Students will study for the CDL written and skills tests administered by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJ MVC). They must pass this examination to attain licensure. They also receive an OSHA-approved forklift operation certification.
