Many jobs in the trucking industry require employees to know how to safely load and unload containers. At Mike’s Driving School, Inc., students can become certified forklift drivers while pursuing their Class A or B Commercial Driver License in a CDL course. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) sets the rules and requirements for forklift operators. Also known as powered industrial trucks, forklifts are used in many different industries to move heave materials often stacked on wooden pallets. After successfully completing the OSHA test for Powered Industrial Trucks, students will receive an OSHA-approved wallet card and certificate. Course completion requires a 100% attendance rate. The Forklift OSHA Certification course runs from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; course dates vary.
This 200-hour course prepares students to pursue a Class A CDL and provides a supplemental forklift operator certification. The Advanced Class A with Forklift course includes classroom instruction, skill development in our tractor-trailer training yard, and practice out in the field. Students will learn the skills they need for the CDL Class A written test and skills test, such as:
Students will also learn proper forklift operation and will earn their forklift OSHA card after completing the course. This course runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday times are also available for students who cannot attend classes on weekdays.
